Tour Description

IMPORTANT INFORMATION: The famous PORT ARTHUR MEGA DAY TOUR shuttle now offers a flexible itinerary once arriving at the TASMAN PENINSULA...spend maximum time at the famous PORT ARTHUR ( 4 hours ) or IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO MIX AND MATCH YOUR TOUR -WHEN YOU GET ON BOARD JUST TELL THE GUIDE... CHOOSE PORT ARTHUR & WILDLIFE PARK OPTION OR PORT ARTHUR & Mt BROWN/TASMAN NATIONAL PARK SHORT WALK

As a small Tasmanian family company with 20 years experience and carrying over 100 000 passengers to the famous Port Arthur and the Tasmanian Peninsula we will make sure we look after you!!! Our tour are informative and we can give you lots of interesting stories about convict life as we head down. Here is the itinerary!

Departing from Hobart at approximately 7.45 am after being picked up from your CBD accommodation...its then on to our first main stop, historic Richmond Village... A convict heritage site, Richmond is full of well-preserved colonial sandstone buildings, including St John's Catholic Church, thought to be the oldest in Australia. While in Richmond you can visit the Richmond Bridge, the oldest bridge still in use in Australia today. You will have 30 mins visiting time to explore some of the area's most beautiful Georgian architecture.

After leaving Richmond, you will venture south via the Dunalley Sea Canal to the Tasman Peninsula, where – amidst breathtaking scenery and rugged wilderness – you will discover significant historical sites drenched in convict history. Soaring dramatic cliffs and rocky outcrops reach to the lashing ocean, forming an extraordinary backdrop to Pirates Bay Lookout, Eaglehawk Neck and the natural landforms of the Tasman Arch,Blowhole and Devils Kitchen, you will have plenty of time to explore this area including a great short walk and find out about the famous Dog-line!!!Our last stop before Port Arthur will be a short visit to the Lavender Farm or an OPTIONAL visit the TASMANIAN DEVIL PARK

TASMANIAN DEVIL PARK: OPTIONAL (1 HR & 30 MINS) - If you would like to split your time at the wildlife park and Port Arthur (We suggest 1hr 30 mins at Tasmanian Devil Wildlife Park and 2hrs 30mins at Port Arthur) this option is available, just let guide know when you are on the bus
*You can spend longer at the DEVIL PARK...just let us know when you hop on board.

From the dramatic coastline of the Tasman Peninsula, you will then visit the famous World Heritage Site... Port Arthur! – Australia's most significant historical convict site and Tasmania's most visited destination. We give maximum time to visit this area ( 4 Hrs and 15 mins )
Originally a penal settlement known as 'Hell On Earth', your Port Arthur visit is an opportunity to learn of the harsh and unforgiving convict life that settled Australia. You will have 4 hours to wander the fascinating ruins, or join one of the guides with many interesting tales to tell. Enjoy the historic site from a different perspective on your 30 minute harbour cruise, where you will also see the convict cemetery on the tiny island where prisoners were buried.

OPTIONAL: MT BROWN CLIFF TOP WALK (1 HOUR) - f you would like to split your time at Port Arthur and do an amazing short walk cliff top walk towards Mt Brown
(We suggest 1hr for the walk and 3 hrs at Port Arthur) this option is available, just let guide know when you are on the bus
After a truly amazing day, you will return to Hobart and your accommodation between and 6:pm & 6.15pm (airport drop offs available).

IMPORTANT: We will adhere to new COVID protocols on bus
