Tour Description

Travel deep into the remote and rarely visited Pitjantjatjara Aboriginal Lands of central Australia for an unparalleled cultural experience. Anangu hosts will guide you to the magnificent cave paintings of the Seven Sisters creation story graphically illustrated on the rock walls. Learn about Tjukurpa (dreaming) and the Songlines relevant to Anangu life in the desert. Depart Ayers Rock Resort early in the morning for the journey deep into the desert and the Pitjantjatjara Lands of central Australia.

On arrival meet your Anangu host, one of the traditional owners of Cave Hill. The traditional owners of Cave Hill are responsible for maintaining only the chapter of the Songline that lies within the boundaries of their homeland – a story that has been maintained since the beginning of time.

Anangu hosts will guide you through the desert landscape to the magnificent cave paintings of the Seven Sisters creation story graphically illustrated on the rock walls of the most significant art site in the centre.

Afterwards climb to the top of the hill above the cave to take in the view, which presents a 360º panorama taking in Uluru, Mt Connor and the imposing Musgrave Ranges.

Discuss Tjukurpa and learn about the Songlines and its relevance to Anangu life in the desert.
After a BBQ lunch you will head back to Ayers Rock Resort.
